Metro State Football

Apparently, Metropolitan State College of Denver is putting together a football team for fall 2011. The Metro State Football Team site seems to indicate it really started at least last fall. The coaching staff seems to be stacked with ex NFL players from the lawn fairy departments, haha. Actually, the info seems to lean more towards the defense as those are the stat/info stuff they posted. They've posted average stats for D I and D II for different positions and have also included a suggested training/workout to get in shape for tryouts. Yeah, tryouts, March 5, two weeks from now. I run a 5k for the CU tri team tomorrow, but then I might switch over completely. Here's the struggle I have in my head. Football, fun. Football, ouch. It seems take a lot longer to recover from just about everything that happens to this body. There are no other benefits scholarship or otherwise. Apparently I also have to come up with the money for pads and stuff too. I don't know what to expect. I've never tried out for anything before I guess. That small pond thing. I've always been the big fish. Off to the meeting to find out what this is all about!
